The return earned is ₹3 over 182 days. Using the BEY formula:

Scenario 3: Corporate Bond Paying Semi-Annual Coupons

Suppose a corporate bond pays a semi-annual coupon of ₹3.60 on a face value of ₹100. Since the bond pays interest twice a year, the total annual coupon received by the investor is:

Annual Coupon=3.60×2=₹7.20

The annual coupon rate is therefore:

Coupon Rate =(7.20/100)×100=7.2%
